IPTC collaborates to provide resources for injured workers and employers
It Pays to Care has been involved in an extensive collaboration with the Australian Education Union (Tasmanian Branch) and the Shop, Distributive and Allied Employees Association, supported by the EML Group.
This week, we’re proud to share the fruits of that collaboration.
Firstly, don’t miss the brand-new It Pays To Care Podcast – Series One available to stream now.
Hosted by psychologist Sam Sellwood, the series explores psychological injury resulting from workplace aggression, featuring expert guests including workers’ compensation, medical and union experts.
We're also pleased to introduce groundbreaking resources on the IPTC website: factsheets for people who have experienced, or are experiencing, work-related injury or illness, plus practical resources for employers supporting injured workers.
Each resource has been consultatively developed alongside worker representatives and experts in work injury management.
Focus group discussions with union collaborators highlighted the specific challenges that arise for workers who have experienced psychological injuries in the workplace. You’ll notice that we’ve given particular attention to these situations in our suite of resources, and we provide detailed contacts for psychosocial support on our new contacts pages.
We have been attentive to the relevance and accessibility of these resources, so we’ve avoided jargon and kept things simple. We welcome any feedback on current worker resources, and suggestions for future content.
This program of work has been supported by an investment from EML Group’s Mutual Benefits Program. IPTC expresses our sincere gratitude to the EML Group for their collaborative support in delivering the best possible outcomes for injured workers.
